SUPERBOWL SUNDAY

So I've never been big about superbowl sunday but I now love it. I can't say I am into the actually teams and their statistics entirely though I do enjoy bits and pieces of the information (maybe I'm a potential fanatic), I do sometimes get into the games. The first time I actually watched the superbowl was when Jeff and I were dating. I really did enjoy it. It also helps to have someone special who is patient and eager to include you in on the plays or explain the game strategies to you. I'm sure I've asked Jeff numerous times about the pass back rule, and yet he still happily tells me what it entails. I truly do appreciate it. It increases my willingness and excitement for the game.

Superbowl sunday itself is a fun time because it is somewhat of a social gathering. Everyone gets together, relaxes and enjoys the company of those they are with. I like that and therefore I have definitely experienced a new aspect of Superbowl sunday hype in which I look forward to hanging out with those who are close to me!

As a bonus this year, Jeff suggested that we make Muddy Buddy snackmix which, in case you didn't know, is a major contributor to my weakness in snacking! I have to pick through and find the most chocolately dense pieces and soon it becomes a quest in which I eat about five times more than I wished I had! Again, it will be fun to be able to spend time with Jeff and make it.

In short, having such a fun loving husband, getting together with family, and making delicious snacks (in that order) is why I enjoy the superbowl! Oh yeah, and I also enjoy watching the game....

Happy Birthday Beth Durbin!

Just in case anyone does decide to view my blog, I want you to know that Beth Durbin's birthday is today, Feb 3! She is turning 23 this year and deserves to have a fantastic birthday. She is usually very busy and is probably spending her birthday doing school, homework, and work. Having your birthday on friday this year does have an advantage because hopefully she'll be able to travel home and spend her birthday weekend with her family and boyfriend. I know that they will make it special for her. As a tribute to you birthday, imagine I am singing the birthday song for you. Ahem...here it goes:

You've had a birthday, shout hooray!
I want to sing to you todaaaay!
One year older and wiser too!
Haaaappy Birthday (clap) to you!

Hooray for birthdays!!

The Travel Itch

I have been getting the travel urge these last few months. There are so many places I would love to see. My sister and I traveled to the British Isles during the summer of highschool. It was amazing! I would highly recommend it to anyone and am eager to one day go see it again with Jeff. Jeff and I were so fortunate to be able to go to Cancun for our honeymoon which was one of the most enjoyable vacations ever. I also would tell anyone to, at some point, visit Cancun or the surrounding area and definitely go on the Jungle Tour!

I think it is best to pick a place you want to go, and then plan and save for it. The next place I would love to travel internationally that I haven't been to before would be Italy or Greece. Jeff wants to go to Japan and though I have other places with priority, traveling anywhere would be fantastic so I wouldn't complain! If I were to choose a place within the states I think I would like to go back East and tour there. I'm not sure exactly where but some place with a lot of historical monuments.

Eventually we will go to all the places we have on our list, however, there is a lot of other things to do first and even places within Utah that we haven't explored or checked out. It is one of my goals to sometime be able to also visit all the national parks in the U.S. or at least the main ones that I think are really cool. I know I have plenty of time and that I probably won't really do major traveling until I am much older, but thinking about all this just makes me so excited for when we are able to go!

My leisure time

I think I spend a lot of time getting 'ready' to have my leisure time and end up not actually spending it on prepping to relax. I guess that doesn't make complete sense but I will, for example, want to read a book but before I do that I think to myself, I'm just going to sit and rest for a few minutes, and by the time I am done with that, the window of leisure time is gone. In a way I'm probably not using my time effectively!
Anyway, I am reading The Da Vinci Code right now. Jeff keeps teasing me that I will never finish it, but I will. I'm over halfway through. I like to be in the middle of a book and so don't mind too much if I don't finish it in a timely fashion. However, I could finish it and dive into a new book allowing me to read twice the number of books! I should strive to do that more!
The Da Vinci Code is a really thrilling book. Every chapter seems to be a cliff hanger, making it very difficult to put down. In fact, at night I will dream about the story in an effort to try to figure it out. Needless to say it doesn't leave me with much of a restful sleep, but it makes me eager to pick up the book again. I should definitely start writing down all the books that I would like to read after I finish this one, which (ahem...Jeff) will be very soon!

Blog, blog, blog, blog....

It's tuesday night and I'm just winding down from work. It's only 9 pm but I'm ready for bed. Jeff and I were called as Nursery leaders at church and are now getting a different illness each week. It doesn't set us back too much, but until we build up our immune system some more, we won't be feeling one hundred percent. I am now fighting the urge to throw up right now. I always seem to eat something with tomato sauce in it on days that I throw up, why is that?
Whew! I did it, I posted a blog. Aren't you proud of me, Jeff? :-) Perhaps future blogs will be a bit more interesting and more about what is going on with me!
